In May of 1961, I was 11 years old, and I watched the nightly news and began to see what I would call my older brothers and sisters and a few whites challenge the white power structure, and many were beaten to the ground, having the President to call out the National Guards. Freedom Riders It changed my life forever.
Then we got folks saying you must love the kinky hair, full lips, and become conscious, that Little Sambo, and Tarzan was a creation of those who hated us. Why should we hate what was natural to our own. We went and pulled out old customs and created new customs under black consciousness. For if one hated or did not know one’s culture, how could you love and stand tall, even for those you supposedly love? And then there was Malcolm who demanded we stop hating ourselves, James Brown, I am Black and I am Proud, and then the Black and Latin Power.
I remember going out with a darker skin girl and told by my peeps in H.S. that I picked at the bottom of the barrel, shook me. Understanding Afro-Americana and the knowledge of one’s culture and legacies gave me a deep love, till this day, learning to re-love the beauty of the Euro-Americans and the race called human. The election of Barack Hussein Obama II, our 44th POTUS is a prideful event of Americana.
All of the debates for moving conscious folks forward begin within their own community and traditions, and end with a workable resolve. Segregation and integration is a wasted conversation, unless it impinges on the rights of a community, including the right of playing. Even if Euro-Americans continue to foster and pander to the illusion of black ethnic inferiority, it is an illusion of dying priledges and a grasp for waning glory. Race is a misnomer, and equality is a process, not a goal. This is why conscious collaboration is an evolutionary power.

If Euro-America wants to go open dicatator in our nation, no matter the actor, it reveals a ethnic revenage that will not last very long. Ye of so little faith. The Justice System is definely complicit with breeding ignorance and superfluous lives, the black skin tone, majority, is a cruel historical consequence, which will take another, 50th years to resolve. Yet the victory of me and my older brothers and sisters, gave this nation the fire of true libertines: the dignified person is the center of a just and stable society, protected by a common ethos, to protect said persons and family.
Afro-Americans gave a blueprint for all who wish to push the doors of opportunity open, even used in Egypt. We can now say that all can not excel, but the core of our struggle was dignity, the violence within a community must be neturalize. There are no governments on the globe to be trusted even ours, but are necessary. All wounds and pathogly must be healed by local means, for as we revealed in 1961, this journey called life waits for no one’s dead ideas.
